White water paddling is what we’re famous for! We operate our adventure tours and packages year-round.
You choose your own level of fun with trips designed for your level of paddling experience: beginners, intermediate and advanced. There are half-day, one-day and two-day options.
Self guided paddling packages:
These are paddling trips on the Barrington River without a guide, you set your own course and paddle at your own pace. You leave your vehicle at our office and we take you to the river drop-off point, then we come and collect you later at the the pick-up point further downstream. Your package includes transport, boat, paddle, spray deck, helmet and buoyancy vest.
Subject to availability, self-guided trips depart every weekend throughout the year plus midweek during every school holiday period. Bookings are essential. You can also book other midweek dates, call us to find out.

Departing 9.00am and 11.00am. Paddle at your own pace, includes transport, boat, paddle, spray deck, helmet and buoyancy vest.
- Half Day Self Guided Beginner
Grade 1 rapids and long sections of calm water make this an easy half day paddle with a good beginner’s section. Choose one-person kayaks or two-person canoes. This is great for families and paddlers who may be a little unsure on the water.
Minimum child ages: 6 years in a canoe with two adults; 8 years in a canoe with just one adult; or 10 years in a kayak by themselves.
- Half Day Self Guided Intermediate
Features a variety of rapids on this 12km paddle on the middle section of the Barrington River, including The Steps, and finishes at Rocky Crossing. This more adventurous trip is recommended for paddlers with a bit more experience. For those coming for the first time we recommend a guided tour. (Min. age 12 years)
- Half Day Self Guided Advanced
Starting from Cobark Junction, this 12km paddle is perfect for experienced kayakers to experience the upper section of the Barrington River. This remote location offers some spectacular scenery and fun kayaking. Taking about 4 hours, it’s worth working your way up to! (Min. age 12 years)
- One Day Self Guided Advanced
Worth the extra effort, this 18km paddle covers the upper and middle sections of the Barrington River. Starting at Cobark Junction you’ll experience the best Grade 2 rapids on the river with a nice finish at The Steps. (Min. age 12 yrs)
- Two Day Self Guided Advanced
For those wanting more than just a taste of white water, you’ll enjoy two days of paddling at your own pace along the upper and middle sections of the Barrington River. Include overnight camping fees at The Steps Campground (BYO camping gear). (Min. age 12 years)
