Looking for a reliable caterer for outdoor school camp and tour food preparation and catering.

Job entails mostly distribution of bulk group items ready for drop off, some cooking, local shopping, ordering of bulk items online and must have attention to detail with regard to food allergy alternatives.

This position is an integral and supportive part of our team, candidates will be working with a dynamic staff group, schools and public tours, in a positive, active, outdoor environment.

Our workplace is spread over 3 locations around Gloucester.

Requirements:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent time management
  • Sound computer skills
  • Flexibility to a constantly changing environment

Contract Positions (x 2) Whitewater Qualified:

  • Dates: 5 February to 24 May 2018

We work on one of NSWs most pristine whitewater rivers and require Whitewater Skills Instructors with a minimum Level 2 Whitewater Certification from Australian Canoeing or the equivalent.

Ideally you will also have a minimum Certificate 3 in Outdoor Recreation or equivalent experience. This is a varied and exciting role where you will gain experience across a broad range of outdoor recreation activities from guiding day tours to teaching skills to school groups through to joining staff for development and training adventures. All Contract Employees are expected to have first aid qualifications.


Contract Positions (x 2) Outdoor Education:

  • Dates: 20 March to 24 May 2017 or 20 March to 13 April 2018

Our Outdoor Education Activity Instructors must have a minimum Certificate 3 in Outdoor Recreation. Whitewater Qualifications are preferred but not essential. Our Outdoor Education programmes are a combination of centre based and expedition style programmes.

We have one of the most scenic abseil sites in NSW and many of our programs are held at our beautiful campground, the Steps of Girrba, which boasts 3.5km of mountain biking single track. Whitewater and flat water kayaking and canoeing are our biggest drawcard but our programmes also include bushwalking (on trail and off trail), high ropes, initiatives, survival skills and group challenges. All Contract Employees are expected to have first aid qualifications.


Casual Positions:

BOAC is looking for confident Outdoor Education professionals to join our team for a series of programs in February, March and April on the following dates:

  • 12 – 16 February 2018
  • 28 February – 2 March 2018 (Kayaking Guides)
  • 27-29 March 2018
  • 3-6 April 2018

We are offering fixed term and casual positions working on a variety of centre-based and expedition-based programs for our tourism clients and outdoor education clients. 

The activities we offer include whitewater kayaking and canoeing, mountain biking, abseiling, bushwalking, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking and flatwater canoeing plus a range of outdoor education activities such as high ropes and survival skills.

We are looking for staff who show a commitment to outdoor recreation and the environment, have excellent customer service skills and enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced environment. You must have a real enthusiasm for the great outdoors and a passion for empowering people, young and old, through outdoor activity. Of course we are looking for people with a desire to work hard and who are willing to live in a rural area. You will also need to hold a need a full drivers license and a Working with Children’s Check or have the ability to get one.

We are based in the scenic rural town of Gloucester on the doorstep of the World Heritage wilderness of Barrington Tops. The town boasts all modern amenities such as supermarkets, Olympic swimming pool, pubs and clubs and train and bus services. More importantly it is close to stunning National Park walking trails, mountain biking trails and is just one hour’s drive from the Pacific Coast around Forster, Port Stephens and Shoal Bay.
